About Us
Aster Private Academy is a registered independent English school serving the community of Carletonville and surrounding areas.
The fully equipped ECD centre accommodates learners from the ages of 3. The Foundation Phase, Intermediate Phase, Senior Phase and FET classrooms are equipped with Led Touch Screen Boards, modern desks and chairs.
The Academy follows the NCS Caps curriculum and is in the process of becoming Umalusi Accredited. Academic standards are high and we have a committed and talented teaching staff. Classes are small (approximately 15 – 20 learners per class). We see this as essential for effective teaching and learning. It provides an opportunity for discussion and small group work, as well as ensuring a high degree of individual attention from the educators.
Co – curricular activities offered at the Academy are: chess, choir, debating, and public speaking. Extra-curricular activities are: cricket, tennis, hockey, netball, soccer, swimming (heated pool), and volleyball.
Aster Private Academy promotes the holistic development of the learner by providing quality education where all will be able to achieve their best.
Our History
Since 2018
Aster Private Academy was founded by Mr Paulo de Gouveia in October 2018. His aim is to provide children with the highest standard of education and care, where each child is regarded as special, different and having individual needs. The Academy, working in partnership with parents, ensures that each child’s experience of school will be a secure and happy one, and that it is a place where children come eagerly each day and depart with a sense of achievement and pleasure.
